We woke up freezing cold only to find out that all of I-80 was closed from Rock Springs to Cheyenne and some of I-90. Around 9am we packed up and headed out to see what we would find. At 10:20pm we reached Farson - the deciding point. Ann started talking to everyone that was around to get road updates. We were going to have to decide whether to head toward I-90 or wait for I-80 to open (latest report was maybe 7-9 hours). An official seeming man started spouting off all of the flaws with our different route plans. He finally advised us that our best option was to head to Rock Springs and wait for I-80 to open.

Just outside of Farson, we spotted a herd speed goats or antelope. Once we reached Rock Springs we could see the trucks just sitting on the interstate. After much discussion, we stopped at Dickies and got some BBQ and headed for the Interstate that seemed to be moving just slightly. A nice trucker let us on the interstate from the ramp and we sat there (sometimes creeping slowly up) for about an hour and by the grace of God we were finally on our way. The roads were decent. We hit some major wind gusts (reportedly up 60mph) between Walcott and Cheyenne. We listened to Hank the Cowdog and sang along with the crazy round. We were so excited to get out of Wyoming and into Nebraska. We camped at Cabela’s for the night. It was a decent campground with electricity, Verizon service, showers, and bathrooms. We rolled in just in time to shop at Cabela's before they closed, too. It was a short night but a night of luxury.
