It was obvious that friends and family were praying. We had a great trip and even got better gas mileage than we anticipated. We learned that the Honda Ridgeline runs much better on Premium gas. The improved gas mileage over the last trip was all the proof we needed. We were really worried about the last leg from the border to Canada but made it with a quarter of a tank to spare. Guess we'll have to use the extra gas we brought in cans for the boats once we get them out.
We had to stop every couple of hours for gas so it took a little longer but we made decent time. We stopped at A&W in Mingong, Wisconsin for chilie cheese dogs and rootbeer floats around 8pm. We stopped at the Walmart parking lot around 10pm in Hermantown, Minnesota. It turned out to be a bad idea because there was no electrical so Scott couldn't plug his cpap in so he didn't get much sleep which meant I didn't get much sleep. I got up at 4am and did my Bible study. We left around 7am.
We didn't get to the cabin until about 1:30pm. Patty and Mrs. Cox were painting Patty's shutters. They stopped to say hi. Patty is leaving next week and the Cox's sold the Barker cabin. They are renting a place across from Deer Trail not eh Pennisula until they can find something to build. They also sold their other farm.
We got the camper backed in and the water in the cabin turned on. After much organizing and setting up we decided to get the kayaks put in. We drove them down to Muse's and unloaded. I hooked up Scott's kayak to my new tow rope and paddled them both back to our dock. We took baths and retired in the camper for the night. We fixed popcorn for dinner and were watching the fourth Pirates of the Caribbean
When I saw a pelican on the a lake. There was also a duck with about four babies. I got a picture but they were pretty far away.
